Saint John’s Episcopal Church

During construction of this renovation at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Gig Harbor, a neighbor walked by and said “I didn’t think anyone occupied this building!”  The parish has been around since the early 1950’s and was last renovated in the 1990’s.  It was time to remind the community that “We are still here!  And, all are welcome!”.  Rice Fergus Miller was tasked to design a more open and visible entrance as well as renovate the interiors to provide accessible restrooms, open up the nave to their beautiful existing stained glass windows and accommodate a new pipe organ.  The challenge was to ensure this addition blended well with the architecture.

Congratulations to the congregation and leadership at St. John’s – you’ve achieved your goal: Welcome and come in!
