East Pierce Fire & Rescue Station 118
At 17,000 square feet, East Pierce Fire & Rescue’s Station 118 in Edgewood, WA is a result of East Pierce Fire & Rescue’s response analysis and property assessment, and the passing of an $80M bond for improvements to serve citizens in this rapidly growing area.
The station was designed to prioritize crew wellness. It maintains operational flow through the floor plan’s direct access response routes from work, living, and sleep rooms to apparatus bays. With hand wash sinks at all apparatus bay transitions, positive air pressure to keep contaminants out, and a dedicated fitness room, the station is equipped for healthy living 24/7.
Station 118 will provide seven firefighter sleep rooms and a battalion chief suite. Durable materials will allow for easy cleaning and longevity, while a community room and covered patio balance the hardworking space.
