Caldwell Fire Station 3
We designed Caldwell Fire Station 3 to be a healthy environment for the firefighters who live and work here. Non-porous materials and finishes were selected to mitigate pathogens, and carcinogen removal systems were installed in the apparatus bay. To further reduce contaminant exposure, we implemented Healthy In, Healthy Out practices that identified Hot, Warm, Cold, and Transition Zones, including strategically placed hand-washing stations. Creating a low-stress environment meant paying attention to natural lighting, acoustics, and calming colors.
