Rice Fergus Miller has been an advocate for redevelopment of Bremerton’s downtown core since we decided to set up headquarters here in 1987. With an emphasis on sustainability and saving buildings from abandonment or demolition, while incorporating a new use, the firm has successfully given old buildings new life. So when Sound West Group was looking for a design partner to breathe new life into Fourth Street’s abandoned buildings, we were the perfect fit. Multiple buildings along Fourth Street – the old Sears department store, the Ford dealership and adjacent parking structure – are now redeveloped into the B Flats apartments and lofts, and retail. The residential apartments and lofts hold an urban vibe and retain their historic features. B Flats is connected to the urban revitalization project, Quincy Square, further redevelopment of Fourth Street.
